Ugly Illustration 3 by Evan Lovejoy in Sarasota, Florida.
Friday is a great day for something different. As members of The Watercolor Gallery you all know that I love different. Lovejoy’s work is different and I love it.
There is a lot going on in this piece that I can draw inspiration from. Lovejoy uses the ink to outline, as most do, but also to add texture, hair, shading with dots, etc. You’ll notice that the shadows are done in watercolor – just slightly – but that the ink dots add much more shading than the color tone does.
This is extremely great.
