Clementines by Chris Krupinski in Fairfax, Virginia
Photorealistic still life watercolor artist Chris Krupinski is at the top of her game. She’s won innumerable awards for her amazing work and it is no surprise why.
I chose the piece above because of the hard shadows that slice across the fruit. Shadows in watercolor generally get blurred or washed out but not in Krupinski’s work. She finds a way to keep the appropriate lines tight and narrow and high contrast. Also, the quilt work is just gorgeous.
