Elephant by David Bovey in Washington, D.C.

I love elephants. Often times artists will use much lighter colors – as they probably should – to paint them, however, Bovey decided to make this elephant quite dark.

I think it strikes a certain mood. The elephant is obviously either in defense or on the attack – her ears give it away. By making the elephant dark it makes the entire seen seem so much more menacing.

Oh, and I love the notches in her left ear.
