Its gorgeous isn’t it. Think of how hard it is to pull this off. The sky is all but washed out and soft while the foreground is everything but. The light is leaking through and reflecting and bouncing off everything as it makes its 93 million mile trek to our eyes. The man, leaning slightly forward as he pulls his dog, is a faceless soul in the midst of a busy landscape that – somehow – is captured in a way that looks anything but busy. And the trees are gorgeous.
I don’t know how Dalla Valentina is able to accomplish her paintings. It is a style that is beyond not only my abilities but also my ability to analyze the techniques. Maybe she teaches a class?
