Neil Young by Denise LaFrance in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
LaFrance has got skills. I wish I could see a much larger version of this but I can’t find it. Her style is dead on for each portrait she does. This one of Neil Young shows both motion and emotion. The guitar has wear. So does Neil’s face.
LaFrance is completely self taught. That always makes aspiring watercolorists like myself feel good. Knowing that I have a chance. However, I’m very nearly getting to the point where I’ll be looking for some training. I may not be able to go it alone forever.
You can find LaFrance on Flickr and MySpace.
Update: I’ve had to edit this post due to my error of linking LaFrance with a completely different LaFrance. I sincerely regret the error. As I’ve said in the past, I work very hard at trying to give proper attribution to the artists that I feature here on The Watercolor Gallery – and, even with that effort, I do make mistakes. I’m sorry Denise and thank you for pointing out the error.
