Cunanan’s work is very interesting in that she seems to work in reverse (at least, in the opposite direction that I do things which is probably why she’s so much better than I am).
In her posts to her Tumblog you can see the progression of some of her pieces. For some of them, this featured one in particular, she seems to work on the sky last. I don’t know how or why but she does.
She has a lot of beautiful work that she’s posted over there. I recommend rummaging through her archive.
