Horse sitter by Samantha Hahn in Brooklyn, NY.
Hahn’s work has been featured just about everywhere from Marie Clarie to Glamour magazines. She has representation in both the US and Asia. This chick isn’t fooling around.
This painting isn’t fooling around either. The dress is what caught my eye with this one. Simple wavy lines of varying weights and thickness that creates a feel of something with weight and looseness. The posture of the subject may indicate the uneven footing (the horses) that her chair rests on but I can’t be sure.
I’m also not sure if there is supposed to be a deeper meaning here. If there is it escapes me but that is OK. I don’t have to understand something to see its beauty.
