Boys & Jetsam at Cumberland Island, GA by Gregg Bauer in Atlanta, Georgia.
Whenever an artist can make something look like it is wet I’m immediately impressed. I know, it seems ironic that someone would have to make watercolor look wet but – well – they do and Bauer did an amazing job with that here.
I find myself purposefully avoiding some of the works that I want to do simply because I have no idea how to do it. I’ve got a few photos that I’ve taken, particularly of flowers, that would need to look wet and I haven’t done them because I don’t think I can. It is horrible, I know. Mr. Bauer, you have inspired me to try to make something look wet. Since I’m nearly half way through my vacation, as you read this, I’ll have many an opportunity while at the beach to paint something that looks wet.
